Our Veterinary Services

Health Check & Vaccinations

We recommend that your pet visits us at least once a year for their annual health check and if healthy, we can give your pet its routine vaccinations. These are essential in preventing life-threatening illnesses.

We believe in preventative medicine and this annual check is an opportunity to detect problems like dental disease, weight gain/ loss, abnormal lumps or skin disease.

Spaying & Neutering

Spaying & Neutering

We are happy to discuss with you if spaying/ neutering is the right decision for your pet and discuss all aspects of the surgery and aftercare required. We can advise you of the recommended age for your specific animal.

This is a day procedure with two follow up post operative checks.

Dental Care

Dental care is a very important part of your pet’s overall health.  Poor dental health can be a symptom or a cause of other disease processes and therefore it is important to recognise and treat appropriately. Briarhill Veterinary Hospital has an extensive dental suite and complex cases can be referred here.

Parasite Control

Our pets provide an ideal environment for ticks, fleas and worms. To protect them and to prevent transmission of some parasite-borne conditions that affect humans, it is important to maintain good parasite control.  Please contact us to discuss the best options for your pet.

Microchipping

Microchipping is an essential way of identifying your pet should they become lost or stolen. Our microchip service includes the implantation of the chip and registration of the details to a national database.

Pet Passport Scheme

We provide all the requirements for pet travel such as the pet passport, pre-travel exams, rabies vaccination and parasite prevention to allow movement to mainland Europe and UK.
