Fully Equipped Veterinary Clinic in Kinvara
We are delighted to have been accredited as a Veterinary Clinic by the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
Our new, purpose-built practice in the heart of Kinvara, Co. Galway is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to meet the needs of all our small pet customers.
Our Veterinary Clinic Facilities
Blood Machines
Using our haematology machine, we can look at the number and relative percentages of red and white blood cells. This is a vital diagnostic aid in cases such as infection or anaemia.
Our biochemistry machine is used to measure values such as blood proteins or elevations of organ specific enzymes in the liver, kidneys or pancreas. This further aids in the diagnosis of disease.
Consultation Room
Our consultation room provides a calm environment in which to examine your pet. Many routine procedures such as vaccinations and health checks are carried out here.
Operating Theatre
Our dedicated prep area and operating theatre provides a sterile environment for surgical purposes.
Digital X-Ray
Our referral hospital, Briarhill Veterinary Hospital, will provide readily available access to digital x-ray equipment when required.
Ultrasound
Soft tissue abnormalities are often diagnosed using non-invasive ultrasound. Like human medicine, it can also be used to diagnose pregnancy.
Gas Anaesthesia
For surgical procedures, all our patients are intubated and placed under general anaesthesia using oxygen and a vaporised anaesthetic agent. This is the safest form of anaesthesia.
Pulse Oximetry
Every anaesthetised patient has this machine placed on them. This means that we have a constant watch over our patient’s heart rate and breathing quality.
ECG
The electrocardiagram is used to detect problems with the electrical activity in the heart. An ECG test is a completely non-invasive way to detect some heart conditions.
Weighing Scales
At Kinvara Bay Veterinary Clinic, we are firm believers in preventative medicine and one of the most critical factors in pet health is weight management. Our sub-floor weighing scales are specially configured beneath a grass mat for ease of weight taking.
